A Big Thank You to Tess Willes

Tess has been a committee member since SAGA took over the management of the Allotment. She has worked tirelessly in the manufacture of chutneys and other such delights, has give generously from her allotment for our various fund raising events and has toiled many hours over pots of boiling soup to promote allotment growing in this area.  Tess has now decided to stand down as a commitee member. All of the commitee members will miss her contribution greatly. Luckily she will still continue with her plot at the allotments.

In the picture she and a number of friends have managed to grow, from seed, a baby. This is a testament to her skills as a gardener !

Waiting List On Amberley Road

I know that the length of the waiting lists is of great concern to all those keen to start allotment growing in Storrington. As you know (if you have read this web site ) we have made great progress since we started managing the allotments having increased the number of plotholders from 19 to an expected 44 in the new 2011-2012 growing season. There is now a waiting lists of 17 for our site. The majority of those on the waiting list joined the list in 2010.

If there are any landowners in or around Storrington who would concider leasing ( or selling ) S.A.G.A some more suitable  land to accomodate this backlog we would much appreciate you getting in contact with us !

The AGM 13 November 2009

13 November 2009, 13:31

P7051146The AGM was a great success with a very high turnout. We would like to welcome the new committee members that were elected. Ron Barber has stood down as the site warden and we would like to thank him for all of his considerable efforts over the last year or so. He has made a massive contribution in terms of fundraising, wisdom and practical support for the various activities that we carry out through the year. The picture is of one of the smaller pumpkins Ron has contributed to the cause through the year !

Applying for an Allotment

P7051148Lots of people have asked me how to apply for an allotment as there is some confusion with SAGA and the Parish Council and their rolls. so I though I would put it up on the Website.

The waiting list for allotments is still being maintained by Storringtom & Sullington Parish Council and the Ravenscroft Site is still being managed by them. You are eligible to go on the waiting list if you are a parishioner of the Parish

To go on the waiting list contact the parish council here . If you are accepted on the list your details will be passed over to us to see if there is room on the Amberley Road site and the Parish will see if you can be accommodated on the Ravenscroft site. At the moment, I believe, there are available plots on the Ravenscroft Site.

I hope this helps
